Girls Camp 2010!!!!!!

Gilbert 6th Ward Young Women!!!

I had the opportunity this past week to go to Girls Camp. It was soooo much fun! I love my ward and especially all the Young Women! We get along so well and I couldn't ask for a better ward! We always make each other laugh and smile and we love each other. Okay well now I'm gonna talk about what we did at Camp Lo Mia. The 1st day we arrived at around 9:00 AM and found our stuff, put it with the rest of our ward's stuff and headed over to the flag pole for the first raising of the flag. After that we went into the lodge and talked about the rules and other stuff and then we grabbed our things and hiked up the hill to our addies to get settled in. After that we went down and had lunch and then went to our classes which on the first day were Crafts, Activity, and Spiritual. Then we went back to out addies to practice our skit (Hoedown Throwdown by Hannah Montana which was AMAZING!) and after that we went back down to the lodge for the lowering of the flag, to eat dinner, and to perform and watch the other ward's skits. And then after all of the skits we went and did a spiritual walk where there were 5 stations and 3 YCLs (5th and 6th years) at each one that would talk to us about different things and what we need to do to be heading in the right way. Then we had dessert and went back and got ready for bed and eventually went to sleep. Day 2 was a little different but more of the same. We woke up got ready and went down to the lodge for the raising of the flag and breakfast and then we went on a hike and after that me and about 10 other girls from my ward wen down to a little creek right by where our addies were and we read our scriptures and talked about times when we had felt the spirit. After that we went to our classes which were Crafts, Spiritual, and Music. Then we had more ward time and went to the lowering of the flag and dinner and then we had a little spiritual meeting with the whole stake and then went snipe hunting and then played Mafia till about 1:00 in the morning and then eventually went to bed. The next day we woke up and got ready, went down to the lodge did the usual and went to classes. After classes we had the water fight (which the bishopric was there for) and then had ward time and played 'Minute to Win It ' with our ward (including the bishopric and their wives who the the games together). When we were playing the games it started pouring rain and some of the people from our ward had to run down to our addies and bale water out of them. The remaining girls got in a circle, arm in arm, and sang Primary Songs for about an hour I think. After that we walked down to the lodge ate dinner and then went and had our testimony meeting. I was the last to bare my testimony and I BALLED my eyes out! When we were done with testimony meeting we all sang our camp song and at brownies and ice cream. Then we got ready for bed and played mafia till about 1:00 in the morning again. The next day we woke up at breakfast and got all of our things together and waited for the buses which were about 2 hours late! We arrived back at the Stake Center at about 1:00 PM and went home. I will never forget Girls Camp!!!!!!

CAREFUL TROY, CAREFUL!!!

This picture was from a few days ago when Troy, Trace, and I were helping our grandma move her fish from on pond to the next. We were over at one of the ponds to drop off some of the fish and Troy wanted to help with the fish, so we let him attempt to put them in the pond but he didn't quite understand how to yet! When he grabbed a fish and took it out of the bucket it slipped out of his hands and my grandma started FREAKING OUT! That continued to happen until my grandma got him to believe there were no more fish even though there were like ten left! O DANG IT! He figured out there was more in there and so I had to take an empty fish food bottle and scoop up the fish with it and put it directly over the pond so he could dump it in! Hopefully He got all of them!

Happy Mothers Day!

I know that Mothers' Day has already passed but i felt like I needed to write on my blog again! I haven't written since October 2008, and it's already May 2009! I just wanted to say Happy Mothers' Day to all the mothers out there! I know your job is not easy! I've heard from my mom, grandma, and tons of aunts that it is not easy! Your job is probably the hardest out of all of them! But it sure looks fun, and I can't wait to grow up and be a mother just like all of you! You guys are the best! Thank you to all my family and friends and family's friends for all you do for me! You guys have a special place in my heart! Oh and I forgot to mention that this picture was taken by my dad in our living room on Mothers' Day!

Kamber

Kamber is sooooo cute!!! She is extremely hilarious, too!!! But a few months ago something terrible happened!!! On July 24th my mom had a volleyball game. She asked her friend if she wanted to take one of her team members place because she could not come. She said yes, so I ended up going with them. Then Lena asked me if I wanted to go to the movies with them the next day. Lena said that she was going to see Kit Kittredge. And I had been wanting to see that movie FOREVER!!! I said YES!!! But the next day after the movie when we got to my house nobody was there, so Lena took me to her house. We kept trying to get a hold of my mom, but she wouldn't answer her phone. Then when Lena checked her voice messages and my mom had left one that said she was at my cousins house watching my cousins. I figured it was Tayler, Kylie, Kamber, and Brookie. When my mom came to the door to pick me up she was sobbing. And I mean SOBBING!!! When I asked her what was wrong she said that she would tell me in the car, but then she couldn't hold it in. She said" Kamber drowned today!" I couldn't believe my ears!!! When I got in the car I saw Trent, Trace, and Tayler. They weren't crying and I didn't know where Kylie was!?! Later that day I figured out that Kylie had been at the doctor because she had been very sick. Kamber is missed terribly!!! I can't wait to see her again!!!

Release of the Doves

On Aug 1st 2008 was my cousin Kamber's Funeral. We went to there church for the Funeral and the viewing. After the Funeral we went to the cemetary. That is where we did the Release of the Doves. I was a little scared to touch them at first but then the lady told me that they are very sweet so I tried. It turns out that they are very sweet birds after all! I released about 3 doves that time. I think I released the most out of everbody but I am not sure I sort of forgot, but everybody that wanted to tossed some in the air. That was the first time I had ever held and threw a dove. It was a very great experience. It was so cool to watch them flap their wings and fly away. When they started flying they didn't leave us without flying in circles in the sky right above our heads a few times. We watched them fly away and soar across the sky. And such a pretty sight it was!

My Fourth Grade field trip to the Grand Canyon

In fourth grade we went to the Grand Canyon. I wanted somebody to go with me so my dad went with me. We rode on a really cool bus all the way up. Our advisor's name was Autumn, she was really nice. We left from the school at 11:00 pm, so we could sleep on the way up. We got to the lodge at about 5:00 am, so we could eat before we started traveling. We walked around the rim of the Grand Canyon for a little while and then we turned of to the side to do a scavenger hunt. After that we went to the Imax theater to watch a movie about the Grand Canyon. The few other places we went were, the volcano, a Native American village, and a tower that a lady designed and got a Native American tribe to help her build it, that is also where we had lunch. To rap up the trip, we went to Peter Piper Pizza for dinner. We arrived at the school at about 8:00 pm. Me and my dad waited for my mom to come pick us up from my school. My friend Abby was waiting too so me, Abby, and her mom had pillow fights with our pillows. We had so much fun.
