Gilbert 6th Ward Young Women!!!
I had the opportunity this past week to go to Girls Camp. It was soooo much fun! I love my ward and especially all the Young Women! We get along so well and I couldn't ask for a better ward! We always make each other laugh and smile and we love each other. Okay well now I'm gonna talk about what we did at Camp Lo Mia. The 1st day we arrived at around 9:00 AM and found our stuff, put it with the rest of our ward's stuff and headed over to the flag pole for the first raising of the flag. After that we went into the lodge and talked about the rules and other stuff and then we grabbed our things and hiked up the hill to our addies to get settled in. After that we went down and had lunch and then went to our classes which on the first day were Crafts, Activity, and Spiritual. Then we went back to out addies to practice our skit (Hoedown Throwdown by Hannah Montana which was AMAZING!) and after that we went back down to the lodge for the lowering of the flag, to eat dinner, and to perform and watch the other ward's skits. And then after all of the skits we went and did a spiritual walk where there were 5 stations and 3 YCLs (5th and 6th years) at each one that would talk to us about different things and what we need to do to be heading in the right way. Then we had dessert and went back and got ready for bed and eventually went to sleep. Day 2 was a little different but more of the same. We woke up got ready and went down to the lodge for the raising of the flag and breakfast and then we went on a hike and after that me and about 10 other girls from my ward wen down to a little creek right by where our addies were and we read our scriptures and talked about times when we had felt the spirit. After that we went to our classes which were Crafts, Spiritual, and Music. Then we had more ward time and went to the lowering of the flag and dinner and then we had a little spiritual meeting with the whole stake and then went snipe hunting and then played Mafia till about 1:00 in the morning and then eventually went to bed. The next day we woke up and got ready, went down to the lodge did the usual and went to classes. After classes we had the water fight (which the bishopric was there for) and then had ward time and played 'Minute to Win It ' with our ward (including the bishopric and their wives who the the games together). When we were playing the games it started pouring rain and some of the people from our ward had to run down to our addies and bale water out of them. The remaining girls got in a circle, arm in arm, and sang Primary Songs for about an hour I think. After that we walked down to the lodge ate dinner and then went and had our testimony meeting. I was the last to bare my testimony and I BALLED my eyes out! When we were done with testimony meeting we all sang our camp song and at brownies and ice cream. Then we got ready for bed and played mafia till about 1:00 in the morning again. The next day we woke up at breakfast and got all of our things together and waited for the buses which were about 2 hours late! We arrived back at the Stake Center at about 1:00 PM and went home. I will never forget Girls Camp!!!!!!
